Top Restaurants: if you want to break away, these are some top suggestions.
Wheatfields – serious home-cooked breakfast and lunch one mile from Marriott hotel. Open 7A – 2P. Popular bakery with everything you should eat when you’re on vacation but not at home. Maybe grab some goodies for your room. They don’t deliver but you can arrange for pick up. (One Pacific Place location) https://www.wheatfieldscatering.com
Spezia – awesome everything, reasonable $$ https://speziarestaurant.com
Mahogany Prime – $$$$ high end steakhouse about 4 miles west of home base
https://mahoganyprimesteakhouse.com/locations/mahogany-omaha/
Flemings – $$$$ high end steakhouse walkable to/from Marriott Hotel https://www.flemingssteakhouse.com
Brother Sebastians – $$ corny monk-themed place with awesome prime rib and awesome salad bar. May be a popular option for this group and we’ll want to plan way ahead. Saturday night is a likely option.

Biaggi’s – $$$ incredible italian https://biaggis.com
Group Activities
Prehistoric Putt https://letsgoputt.com/prehistoricomaha
Miniature golf is a great way for large groups to spend time together in random teams while competing and connecting. It’s social, it’s active, it’s easy, and its memorable and you won’t likely get a black eye. This place has 2 courses inside (adult and kids) and food and an arcade and it’s less than 3 miles from hotel / home base.
Top Golf https://topgolf.com/us/omaha/
This is the closest we can get to golf-golf on this trip, not for everyone but a ton of fun if you like to spend money and try to hit a golf ball with nacho cheese sauce on your hands. If you’re jonesing for golf, this is your best option.
Smash Park https://smashpark.com/la-vista/
SmashPark is a big “everything” place. Indoor facility with food and drink, arcade, batting cages, pickleball, darts, axe throwing, kids bowling, karaoke, bocce ball, and more. 5 miles from Cedar Street.
Half Day or Full Day excursion ideas within a 30-minute drive.
Mahoney State Park https://outdoornebraska.gov/location/eugene-t-mahoney/
Horse rides, miniature golf, pool, water slides, ropes course. Full day if you think 30 minutes each way and then being there early to beat the crowds. Horse Rides are SO worth it if you haven’t been for a while. 45-minute ride through wooded trails. You can’t take drinks with you but you can sure swear a lot.
Wildlife Safari Park www.wildlifesafaripark.com
Four-mile drive-through adventure as you come face to face with North American plants and animals such as elk, deer bison, waterfowl. /Best when they open at 9:00 – animals are not spooked by cars yet and just fewer people and cars. Nothing like it anywhere I know about. Likely a simple one-hour road trip including drive time.
Omaha Zoo https://www.omahazoo.com
World Class Zoo that ranks in the top 5 zoos along with world famous San Diego Zoo. World class exhibits to see Jungle Animals, Massive Aquarium, Gorillas, big cats, Sea Lions and more over a 160 acre campus. Avoid on weekend days but must see if you have time on Thursday or Monday.
Here’s a collection of photos to help set the stage.
In no particular order and more to come.

Aquarium at Omaha Zoo.

Omaha Marriott Regency.

Uhh……..Prime Rib. Heard of it?

Wildlife Safari Park (Adjacent to Mahoney State Park).
This photo is unrealistic but you’ll see elk and bison and more.
